SOAR Services SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery

Mental Health Resource Center (MHRC) offers SOAR Services to assist individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in accessing critical Social Security benefits. The SOAR program is designed to expedite the SSI/SSDI application process for individuals with serious mental illnesses, helping them secure the financial resources needed to support housing stability, access healthcare, and promote long-term recovery.

Services Provided

  • Assistance with completing SSI/SSDI applications
  • Guidance through documentation gathering and submission
  • Coordination with healthcare providers, legal representatives, and Social Security Administration offices
  • Expedited processing support to improve application approval rates

MHRC SOAR specialists work closely with individuals to reduce barriers that often delay or prevent access to benefits, ensuring a smoother, more supportive application experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless 

AND

  • Diagnosed with a serious mental illness
